What to Expect in Each Trimester

You just found out you are pregnant, and this was not the plan. Right now it may feel like your body is making decisions without you.

Here is something that helps more than most women expect. Understanding what is actually happening inside you does not settle anything, but it hands you back some control.

At Choices Women’s Clinic, we sit with women in exactly this moment. Scared, unsure, and often carrying it alone. You will not be rushed here, and you will not be judged here.

First Trimester (Weeks 1 to 12)

This is when most women find out. Nausea, exhaustion, and tender breasts are common, and so is the feeling that you cannot think straight. By around week six, a heartbeat can often be seen on an ultrasound. This is also the stage when knowing your exact gestational age matters most, because Florida law limits your options by how far along you are. Choices offers free pregnancy testing, and you may be eligible for a free limited obstetric ultrasound.

Second Trimester (Weeks 13 to 26)

Most women start to feel like themselves again here. Nausea usually eases. You may notice your belly changing, and somewhere around week 20 you may feel movement for the first time.

Third Trimester (Weeks 27 to birth)

Swelling, restless nights, frequent bathroom trips, and practice contractions are all normal as delivery gets closer.

You may be reading this thinking the later stages will never apply to you. That is okay. You are still allowed to know the truth about your own body first.

Choices does not perform abortions and does not refer for them. What we do is tell you the truth at no cost, and then stay in your corner. If money, housing, school, or being alone in this is what is making the decision for you, those are the exact things we can help you look at.

Schedule a free pregnancy appointment and start with what is true.
