If you are pregnant in Orlando and worried about money, housing, or doing this alone, you may have more help available than you know. Choices Women’s Clinic has a social worker who can walk you through programs you may qualify for, at no cost to you.
For many women, the pressure is practical: rent, a job, school, or a person who will not support you. Those are real, and they are the exact things we can help you look at.
Health Care and Food
A social worker can help you apply for Medicaid, which covers medical care for those who qualify, and can point you to maternal and child health services. For basic needs, we guide you through applying for TANF cash assistance and SNAP food benefits.
Housing in Orlando
If you are unsafe or unsure where you will live, a social worker can connect you with emergency shelters. For longer-term needs, we help you navigate transitional and permanent housing programs and rental assistance.
Childcare, School, and Legal Help
Childcare is often what decides whether work or school is possible. We can point you to subsidized programs such as 4C, the School Readiness Program, and the Pregnant Moms Program, plus Head Start and Early Head Start. If you have questions about custody, child support, or a protective order, we can refer you to legal aid.
Someone in Your Corner
Our Flourish program pairs women with a mentor for seven weeks of one-on-one support, someone one step ahead of you who can relate.
What Comes First
Eligibility is decided by each program, not by Choices Women’s Clinic, so we help you find out what you may qualify for instead of guessing. You can start with a free lab-quality pregnancy test, and you may be eligible for a free limited obstetric ultrasound at our Orlando, Oviedo, or Kissimmee clinic.
